Man, that Sony 24-70 GM II is literally the dream lens!! I totally get the stress, three weeks is a tight window but honestly you can definitely snag a deal if you play it right. Camel is okay for Amazon stuff but for real camera gear you gotta look elsewhere because they miss the niche gear sales. Here is what I usually do to save some serious cash:

  • First off, check out the B&H Photo Video Price Tracker since they specialize in this stuff and catch those random flash sales way faster than Honey ever could.
  • Set up a custom alert on Slickdeals with the specific keywords like Sony GM.
  • Take a look at Greentoe too, you can sometimes name your price and get it close to that 2k mark brand new! Dont stress too much tho! You are gonna love that glass once you get it in your hands, it is seriously life-changing for wedding work. Seriously, it is so sharp!

TL;DR: Skip the big generic extensions because their refresh rates suck for niche glass. Better to keep manual tabs or use tools that manage your cart links directly. Harper is spot on about Camel being too slow for the good stuff. I learned that the hard way when I was hunting for a prime lens last summer. I had alerts set everywhere but unfortunately those big scrapers only hit the niche photography sites every few hours or so. I missed a legit 400 dollar drop on a lens because by the time the email hit my inbox, the flash sale was already sold out. It was honestly such a letdown. The technical side of it is just that these extensions prioritize high-volume items like headphones or TVs. For a high-end Sony GM ii, the stock levels for sales are usually super low. Lately, Ive been using Cart To Link to basically keep my potential builds organized so I can check out instantly once I see a price shift myself. Its way more reliable for keeping track of gear across different tabs when you are ready to pull the trigger. Dont rely on Honey for this, youll just end up paying full price when you get desperate two days before the wedding...
