I'm looking to enhance my audio quality while filming with my Canon EOS R6 Mark II. Can anyone recommend a good external microphone? I'm particularly interested in options that are compatible with the camera's 3.5mm mini-jack input. TIA.
tbh the whole market for camera audio gear feels like such a scam lately. i was looking at some stuff for my r6m2 last month and honestly its ridiculous how much they charge for what basically feels like thin plastic. i bought this one setup that everyone raved about and it felt like it was gonna snap the second i bumped it. drives me crazy how these big brands just keep hiking prices while the build quality goes downhill... feels like you pay a huge premium just for the logo on the box. im just curious tho, what are you actually planning to film? i made the mistake of buying a shotgun mic for indoor interviews once and the echo was just unbearable because i didnt know better... total waste of cash. you might want to be careful before dropping a few hundred bucks on something that doesnt even fit your environment. make sure you tell us if youre doing weddings, vlogs, or just home movies so we dont steer you wrong.
Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!
Seconded!

I use DJI Mic 2, LOVE IT, very easy to use, and compact. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=DJI+Microphone+Intelligent+Cancelling+Recording&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
