Honestly, I've had so many headaches with that new Canon multi-function shoe design. It's really disappointing how they changed the pin layout and made half my old gear unreliable. Since you're doing a wedding, you definitely don't want something that might wiggle loose or skip a shot because the pins didn't align right.

The interface is way better for high-pressure shoots than the cheaper models even if it's a bit bulkier. They've got great breakdowns on which specific pins cause the R8 to glitch out. Better to be safe than sorry when it's for a friend's big day.

Unfortunately, my older triggers had issues with that weird shoe. Just grab the Godox X2T-C TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Canon since its cheap and actually stays locked in properly.

I eventually just bought the Canon AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter to make sure things stayed locked in place. Its annoying that we even need an adapter for a basic flash connection, but for a wedding you really dont want to be second guessing if your trigger is still making contact... it feels a bit clunky but at least it stops the glitching.

Tbh it just makes me so nervous thinking about how much can go wrong with these fancy new designs and everything... it really is a lot to handle for a big event like that and Im always so worried about stuff breaking or just not connecting right when you need it most!
