I finally pulled the trigger on the R10 and im so stoked to start using it for real! My sisters wedding is coming up in three weeks in Chicago and I need a decent flash since the lighting at the venue is gonna be trash lol. I'm looking at two options right now. The Godox V1 seems amazing with that round head but its a bit bulky, vs the Canon Speedlite EL-100 which is way more compact for the R10 body but maybe not powerful enough??

I have like $230 to spend max. I want something that wont look ridiculous on such a small camera but still gets the job done for indoor portraits. Which one should I go with or is there something else I missed??

I tried both and the Canon Speedlite EL-100 Compact Flash is just safer for beginners. It integrates perfectly with the R10 menu.

  • weight is perfect for the small body
  • price is well under your $230 cap
  • canon reliability is key for a wedding The Godox V1-C TTL Li-ion Flash is powerful but it feels like it might snap the hot shoe if you arent careful... let me know if you need help with settings tho.
