I'm actually losing my mind trying to figure this out. I have a huge wedding shoot coming up next Saturday here in Seattle and I just realized my battery life is absolutely not gonna cut it for a 10 hour day. I bought the R6 Mark II a few months ago and I love the sensor but the battery situation is driving me crazy and I'm honestly so stressed about the camera dying during the vows.

I tried looking online for a grip and everything is so confusingly labeled. Is it the BG-R10? Or is there a new one for the Mark II specifically? I saw some people on a different thread saying the old ones fit but then others saying the buttons dont line up right or it wont weather seal properly and honestly I'm just so anxious about spending 300 bucks on something that might not even work. Canon's website is a total mess and local shops around me are all out of stock so I'm probably gonna have to overnight something from B&H tonight but I dont want to buy the wrong thing and be stuck with a dead camera mid-ceremony. Does anyone know for sure which external battery grip is compatible with the Canon EOS R6 Mark II? Like, is there a specific model number I need to look for so I dont mess this up...

10

> Is it the BG-R10? Or is there a new one for the Mark II specifically? Deep breaths, you are totally fine. The Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip for EOS R5 R6 R6 Mark II is exactly what you need for that body. I have been using it on mine for a while now and I am super satisfied with how it performs. There isnt a new specific version because the Mark II kept the same dimensions for the battery door and pins as the original R6. If you want to save some cash though, you dont necessarily have to drop 300 plus. I actually tested the Neewer BG-R10 Vertical Battery Grip for Canon R5 R6 R6 Mark II and it works well for like a third of the price. If money is tight before the wedding, that might be a better move. Just make sure you use official Canon LP-E6NH Lithium-Ion Battery 2130mAh packs inside for the best performance and burst rates. Everything is gonna go great!
