Just picked up a Canon EOS R6 and I’m super excited! I’m transitioning from a DSLR, so I’m curious about UHS-II card speeds for 4K video and if the battery life really requires multiple spares. Are there any specific straps or cages you guys swear by? What are the absolute essentials for a new R6 owner?

In my experience, you basically gotta get the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II Card for 4K video. Battery life is actually okay, but I'd grab two Canon LP-E6NH Lithium-Ion Battery spares cuz mirrorless eats power. Also, I've tried many and the Peak Design Slide Camera Strap is sooo much better than the stock one. Are you planning on doing any sports or just video? gl!

Late to the party but congrats on the R6! Curious about one thing tho: what’s ur total budget for all these extras? Ngl, you can easily spend another grand just on "essentials" if you aren't careful. If you wanna save some cash while staying safe:
Option A (Storage): The Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB SDXC UHS-II is usually around $90 and it's basically the best value-for-money card right now. It's fast enough for everything the R6 throws at it.
Option B (Power): Mirrorless eats power way faster than DSLRs. I usually suggest Canon OEM for reliability, but the Watson LP-E6NH Li-Ion Battery Pack is a decent $60 option that doesn't feel "cheap" or risky.
Option C (Rigging): If you dont need a full video setup, the SmallRig L-Bracket for Canon EOS R6 2947 is like $40 and gives you better grip and mounting for way less money. It reallyyy depends on ur workflow tho... are you doing paid gigs or just hobby stuff? Let me know! 👍

Quick question - shooting video or stills mostly?
- SmallRig EOS R6 Camera Cage is realy solid.
- Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II
Depends on ur workflow!
