I just finally picked up a Canon EOS R5 and I'm beyond excited to start shooting! However, I’m realizing that my old DSLR gear might not cut it for this setup. Since this camera is such a powerhouse with the 8K video and high-res files, I know I need to invest in some fast CFexpress Type B cards and extra LP-E6NH batteries, as I've heard it can be quite power-hungry. I’m also debating whether the EF-EOS R control ring adapter is worth the extra cost over the standard one. Aside from memory and power, what are your absolute must-have accessories to get the most out of this body? Any specific recommendations for a solid cage or strap?

Id compare the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R vs the basic Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. The ring is cool but honestly way too expensive. Id just go with the standard one and grab a Peak Design Slide Camera Strap instead. Plus, a SanDisk 128GB Extreme Pro CFexpress Type B is a solid, CHEAPER alternative for your storage needs. cheers!

Yo, basically the R5 records massive amounts of data... Since you're doing 8K, write speeds are everything or the buffer will choke. Honestly, over the years I've found that the ProGrade Digital 325GB CFexpress Type B Cobalt is the only thing that keeps up. Also, the SmallRig "Black Mamba" Camera Cage for Canon EOS R5 is literally the best for handling. Is the heat really that bad tho? Anyway, gl!
