So I finally saved up and got a 5D Mark IV because everyone said it's a workhorse but honestly I am so frustrated right now because I feel like I can't even use it properly for my first wedding shoot next month. The battery that came with it is basically garbage it dies after like two hours of messing with the settings and I realized the cards I have from my old Rebel are way too slow for 4K video or even fast bursts of photos. I'm literally ready to throw it out the window because I spent all my money on the body and now it feels like a paperweight without the right extras. I need to get this sorted before my trip to Oregon in three weeks.
Heres what I'm looking for:
My budget is capped at about 600 bucks for everything right now which is stretching it. Do I really need the vertical grip or is that just extra weight? Im really struggling to figure out what is actually essential versus just marketing fluff...
Congrats on the gear, its a beast once you get it set up. Skip the vertical grip for now, its just extra weight. Focus on these:
Are you shooting more video or stills in Oregon? If budget is tight, Lexar Professional 1066x 128GB CompactFlash is a way cheaper option for fast write speeds than high-end SD cards.
Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
Great info, saved!
