What is the best tripod for the Canon EOS R5? I'm looking for something that balances stability and portability, as I often shoot landscapes and occasionally need to carry it for a mile or so. Any recommendations on brands or specific models that work well with the R5, especially for heavier lenses? Thanks!

If youre looking for something that hits that sweet spot between price and actual performance for the R5, honestly look at the Benro Mach3 2 Series Carbon Fiber Tripod TMA28C. Carbon fiber is basically a must for that high-res sensor because it damps vibrations way better than aluminum, especially if youre using heavy glass like the RF 70-200mm f2.8. I found that the series 2 legs are thick enough to stay rigid in a breeze but wont kill your shoulder on a mile hike. Another solid choice if you want to save some cash but get pro-level stability is the Leofoto LS-324C Ranger Series Carbon Fiber Tripod. It doesnt have a center column, which sounds like a downside, but it actually makes the whole setup way more stable and easier to fit in a side pocket of a bag. Since the R5 picks up every tiny movement, having that direct connection from the apex to the legs makes a massive difference for long exposures in landscape shots. Just make sure to pair it with a decent head like the Leofoto LH-40 Low Profile Ball Head to keep the center of gravity low. Its a bit of an investment but much cheaper than the high-end boutique brands while performing almost exactly the same.

Been shooting with the R5 since it dropped and I eventually landed on the Peak Design Travel Tripod Carbon Fiber. Its been totally reliable for those mile-plus hikes where every ounce counts. I've used it in some pretty windy spots with heavy glass and its never let me down. Quick tip tho... make sure you get a dedicated L-bracket like the Really Right Stuff BNR5-L Set for Canon R5. It keeps the weight centered over the ball head when you flip to vertical. Way more stable than flopping the head over into the side notch, especially if you want those 45mp files to stay sharp.
