so i just got this canon r5 mark ii and i am honestly so frustrated right now. the battery life is just garbage? like i spent all this money and it dies after like a few hundred photos and it is driving me crazy. people keep saying i need a battery grip thing but i dont even know where to start or if they even make them for this camera yet since its so new. i looked at the official canon one online and its like nearly 500 dollars which is just insane i cant do that after what i already paid for the body itself.

im really sorry if this is a dumb question but i have no idea what im looking for. i just want something that makes the camera easier to hold because my hands feel way too big for it and obviously i need the extra battery power for my best friends wedding im supposed to shoot in phoenix next month. i dont want to break the camera with a cheap knockoff but i really need to stay under 200 dollars because my bank account is crying right now.

  • has to be under $200 ideally
  • needs to hold two batteries at once
  • something i can get delivered quickly before the 15th
  • not too heavy if possible because my wrists already hurt

is there even a third party one out yet that actually works or am i just stuck paying the canon tax... i really dont want to have to carry around like six tiny batteries in my pocket all day.

To add to the point above: im really satisfied with the Vello BG-C18 Battery Grip for Canon EOS R5 R6 R5 II. Works well, fits my budget, and i have no complaints so far.

I was super stressed about this too before a big shoot last summer. I ended up picking up the Neewer BG-R10 Replacement Battery Grip and honestly, it works well and saved me hundreds. It fits the R5 II perfectly and feels great...

  • way under your 200 dollar budget
  • holds two batteries
  • ships fast Im super happy I didnt pay the Canon tax tho, its been rock solid.
