im so tired of this 18-45mm kit lens honestly, it's driving me crazy. I just bought this R50 and every portrait I take looks so flat and cheap because the aperture is just garbage for backgrounds. I have my cousins graduation shoot in literally six days and I am panicking because I spent all my money on the body and only have like $200-$250 max for a lens now. Is there any budget RF prime that actually gives that blurry background look or am I just stuck with this trash kit lens? I really dont want to deal with adapters if I dont have to... what should I buy?
Honestly, you might want to consider the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM since it fits your budget perfectly. Just be careful with the 1.6x crop factor on that R50 sensor tho... it basically behaves like an 80mm lens. I would suggest checking your shooting distance beforehand because it gets tight. Make sure to use that f/1.8 aperture to finally get some decent background separation.
