Anyone know what Canon RF lenses usually go on sale for Black Friday? Specifically looking at deals for 2025. Budget around $500.
> Specifically looking at deals for 2025. Budget around $500. I’d definitely keep an eye out for the Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM during those 2025 sales. I’ve put mine through some real-world testing and the sharpness is actually INSANE for the price, though the autofocus can be a little pokey in low light compared to the L glass. Another solid option that usually falls under five hundred bucks is the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM. Tbh, people hate on it because it's "slow" glass, but if you're shooting outdoors, the performance is basically flawless in the center of the frame. Whatever you pick up, just make sure to do a quick decentering test as soon as it arrives... basically just shoot a flat subject to make sure the corners are equally sharp. I once got a "deal" that was soft on the left side and had to swap it. It’s a simple check but totally worth it to make sure you got a good copy!
I just saw this and had to jump in! I am still pretty new to all this and honestly super cautious about where I spend my money... I actually get really nervous buying used gear because I am terrified of getting a lens with internal dust or a scratched element. For me, the peace of mind of a brand new box is worth everything! The performance you can get for under $500 is actually fantastic if you look at the smaller primes. I have had amazing results with these:
I got a used RF 35mm for $400; works well for car shoots, no complaints!
Used RF lenses offer huge savings. Check KEH; might find bargains for under $500.
Deals are tough to predict that far out! For $500, consider used lenses. Be careful though, inspect the lens mount for wear. RF mounts are new, so check the flange distance; even slight misalignment impacts sharpness. I’d suggest testing thoroughly before buying used; Canon service can be pricey to fix.
Skip Black Friday! Learn lens repair, DIY. Saved me hundreds over the years. Happy with my results.
Hmm, Black Friday 2025 is a ways off! Canon RF glass sales are kinda unpredictable. Honestly, third-party lenses, like Sigma, sometimes offer similar image quality for less. I unfortunately had issues with Canon's kit lens durability. Maybe research Sigma's RF mount options? They can be surprisingly good value. Just be sure to read lots of reviews first!
Hey! Forget the lens for a sec. Black Friday crowds are INSANE. I've seen some crazy parking lot fender-benders! Seriously, think twice about braving those lots just to *maybe* save a few bucks. Is a $50 discount worth the risk of a collision? Just sayin', stay safe out there!
