im honestly so fed up with my current sandisk cards because they keep locking up my R6 mark II right in the middle of a burst sequence and its driving me crazy. i missed a whole set of shots at a local football match yesterday because the buffer just wouldnt clear and the camera just sat there blinking at me. i need something that actually keeps up with the 40fps electronic shutter without dying every five minutes.
has anyone actually tested what works best for high speed stuff without those annoying lockups? i dont want to waste more money on junk...
I've been very satisfied with Kingston Canvas React Plus SDXC UHS-II 128GB V90 cards, no complaints at all. They're reliable and honestly a steal for V90 speeds. Quick question tho, which specific SanDisk cards are you using? If they arent V60 or V90 rated, thats probably your bottleneck... You can usually grab the 128GB for around $100.
To add to the point above: those Kingston cards are solid, but i also swear by the Sabrent Rocket V90 UHS-II SDXC 128GB for heavy burst shooting! I've pushed my R6 Mark II to the absolute limit at track meets and these things just eat up the data without any hitching. Seriously, seeing that buffer light stop blinking almost instantly is such a relief. If you want something super durable for your safari tho, the Sony SF-M Series Tough UHS-II V60 256GB is a beast. They're basically indestructible and the write speeds are fantastic for V60. I've dropped mine in the dirt more times than i care to admit and they just keep going... amazing stuff! You're gonna have a blast on your trip, super jealous!
