So I finally got a real camera guys its a Canon Rebel T7 and I seriously have no idea what I am doing yet. I bought it because my sisters wedding is coming up in October in Vermont and I really want to get some nice group shots where I am actually in the picture instead of just taking them. I tried using the timer thing on its own but its so stressful running back and forth and trying to look natural while the light is blinking at you lol.

I was looking for a wireless remote on Amazon but everything is so confusing like some say they work with the T7 and then the reviews say they dont work because this camera doesnt have an infrared sensor or something?? I dont even know what that means really. I just want a little button I can hide in my hand and click to take the photo. My budget is pretty tight maybe like 30 or 40 dollars since I spent most of my money on the camera itself so I cant really afford anything fancy.

Does anyone know which specific one I should buy? I keep seeing stuff about the Canon BR-E1 but then some people say that only works with the T7i and that mine is different because its just the T7. I am super worried about buying the wrong thing and it not arriving in time for the trip...

The T7 is actually kinda annoying because it lacks an infrared sensor, so those tiny 10 dollar remotes wont work. You need a radio frequency setup that plugs into the side port. Honestly, Pixel RW-221/E3 Wireless Shutter Remote Control is your best bet for like 20 bucks. It comes with a little receiver that sits on the camera, and the remote works from pretty far away.

Just catching up... will you be using a tripod or basically balancing the camera on a surface? Distance matters for signal reliability. In my experience, the BR-E1 is definitely incompatible with the T7, so I recommend these:
