honestly im so done with this cheap Neewer speedlite I bought last year. it keeps losing connection right when i need it and the recycle time is absolute trash during fast shots. I'm shooting a small wedding in Chicago next month and I cannot have my gear failing on me like this. it's so stressful trying to get the lighting right when the flash just decides to sleep halfway through a session.
I have about 300 bucks to spend on something that actually works every time with my 6D Mark II. what external flash is actually reliable and works best with the 6D Mark II?

- In my experience, fighting AAs is a nightmare. Switching to the Godox V860III-C TTL Li-ion Flash fixed everything since the li-ion recycle is way faster.

Jumping in here... Regarding what #2 said about "Re: "I would suggest being careful with cheap...", I totally agree. I spent years fighting third-party triggers. Honestly, for guaranteed reliability at that wedding, just get the Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT Radio Flash.
- Reliable TTL communication
- Never loses connection with the body
- Better build than budget brands Its better to have an OEM flash that actually fires every single time... trust me.

^ This. Also, the reliability of OEM communication is just on another level.
- The pulse-width modulation on the flash output is unfortunately less consistent on third-party units, which causes those annoying exposure shifts.
- The IGBT gate drivers in budget gear are also prone to thermal shutdown under high-speed sync conditions, which is why your recycle time is tanking.
- reminds me of this vintage light meter i found at a garage sale once that didnt even need batteries. it was built like a tank. the guy selling it was a retired civil engineer who told me all these stories about building bridges in the 70s... i think one of them was the bridge near where my cousin lives. anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.

I would suggest being careful with cheap gear, so maybe try the Godox V1-C TTL Flash for Canon for around 260.
- fast recycle
- killer battery It might save your wedding honestly... dont want it dying!
