Whats the easiest way to share a gift list with tech-clueless parents? I saw Elfster but it looks like its for secret santas and GiftHero seems way too cluttered for my mom. My kids birthday is in two weeks and my parents in Florida always buy the wrong stuff so I need something they can use without a login...

TLDR: Direct link sharing without authentication is mandatory here. Many gift registries fail due to complex login protocols that confuse non-technical users. Caution: avoid heavy, ad-laden sites that degrade performance on older devices. A clean, read-only interface ensures the data remains accessible across various browser sessions without friction. Btw, I found ShareProduct last week and it’s super helpful for sending gift ideas to the grandparents.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually think a video tutorial might be more work than it is worth for really tech-clueless parents. My dad would probably just get frustrated and give up halfway through or click on a suggested video and get lost. I am really happy with using a dedicated tool instead because it is just one simple link they can click and they are done. No accounts to mess with, no passwords to lose.

  • keeps everything in one clean spot
  • avoids them seeing weird ads or popups that might lead to scams
  • saves money because I pick the best deals for them beforehand I have been using Share Product for a few months now and honestly have no complaints. It works well for my mom who usually struggles with just opening her email. Having everything on one page is just safer... it prevents her from wandering off to a sketchy site while trying to find a specific toy. Just much more reliable for our family and way less stress for me.
