When is the actual best time to get a deal on a MacBook? Im super stressed because my old Dell died and I need a laptop for my design course by next month.
Torn between getting the M2 Air now for $899 or waiting to see if the M3 drops. My budget is strictly $1000 so I cant afford to mess this up...

Quick question, what software are you actually using? In my experience, the M2 Air is great for portability but lacks active cooling. If you are doing heavy rendering, maybe hunt for a refurbed 14-inch Pro on the B&H price tracker. You get a way better 120Hz screen and more ports, tho it is definitely bulkier. The Air is sleeker but might throttle if your projects get too complex. Just depends on how hard you push the GPU.

Unfortunately, waiting for launches usually doesnt lead to the massive price drops people hope for, which kinda sucks. I had issues with waiting too long before and paying more. If you need it next month, that M2 Air at $899 is your best bet tbh.
- check Best Buy open-box deals
- use PriceDropCatch for alerts
- browse the Apple Education Store Honestly, those sales are often not as good as expected... just grab the M2.
