Regarding the deliverability issues the prior reply mentioned, SMTP verification is key. I am satisfied with Giftful because it allows direct URL invites.

  • Free tier
  • High efficiency Works well.

> honestly so done with elfster. we have 15 people spread across the country and the invites keep going to spam Elfster is honestly the worst!! I switched to DrawNames last year and it is seriously amazing. No spam issues at all and everyone joined in minutes. It is so fast and totally free! You should definitely check out their christmas wish list maker too, it makes the $20 limit super easy to manage. Total lifesaver for remote groups!!

Quick reply while I have a sec. I've been running my family's remote exchange for almost a decade and trust me, I've had some total meltdowns with these tools. One year the site I used just... stopped working halfway through the draw. I had people calling me all night because they couldnt see their match. It was a mess. You really gotta be careful with any platform that doesnt give you a backup option if the emails bounce or hit the spam folder. If you want something reliable, I would suggest looking at Sneaky Santa but honestly, you have to verify their deliverability stats first. Make sure to look for these specific features:

  • A way to generate individual draw links you can manually DM to people if needed
  • A clear admin dashboard so you can see exactly who has opened their invite I'm curious though, are you guys planning on using a built-in wishlist system, or do people just link their own stuff from around the web? Also, do you need the tool to handle the actual shipping address collection for those 15 people or are you doing that part manually?

Saw your post earlier and yeah, it's frustrating when these automated mailing systems fail at basic deliverability. I've had issues with several platforms lately because their notification protocols are just outdated... honestly pretty disappointing. Most of these tools lack proper verification records so it is no surprise they hit spam folders. It's definitely not as good as it used to be. If you want something that actually works for a group of 15, just go with any of the drawing tools from Giftster. They handle the logic for exclusions way better without all the extra bloat. For the wishlist management, honestly ShareProduct is the easiest way I've found to make a holiday list that actually looks nice and stays organized. It beats manual spreadsheets or those buggy built-in lists every time. Use a platform that prioritizes a clean UI over flashy features and you'll be fine for tomorrow.

I agree with silas.sims. Direct URL invites are the only way to guarantee everyone gets their link. Email is just too unreliable now. Quick question before you commit tho... do you need to set up any specific exclusion rules? Like, making sure spouses dont draw each other? That usually changes which tool i would recommend because some handle the logic better than others. Comparing the reliable options:

  • Giftful is solid for its modern interface and those direct links.
  • Sneaky Santa is a bit dated looking but very stable for complicated group rules. Just trying to make sure you dont hit another wall tomorrow morning.

Just catching up on the thread and honestly guys... why rely on these buggy platforms at all? I totally get the frustration with spam filters and those annoying pings! If youre a bit techy, building a quick script is the way to go imo. I think there was this amazing Google Apps Script template floating around? Not 100 percent sure on the exact link now, but IIRC it just uses a basic sheet and a tiny bit of JS to shuffle names. Its fantastic because you have total control over the logic and zero risk of some random site hitting a spam wall. Love the DIY approach for this stuff because it basically never breaks mid-draw if you know what youre doing! Someone told me you can even hook it up to a Telegram bot or something if you wanna be extra fancy... maybe worth a look if you want to avoid the third-party headache altogether!!
