Ugh so I am literally about to lose my mind planning this wedding. My fiance and I are getting married in Chicago this August and everything is just so expensive like I didnt realize flowers cost as much as a used car?? Anyway we were looking at those honeymoon fund things because honestly we have lived together for three years and we have enough toasters and towels we dont need more stuff taking up space in our tiny apartment. So I looked at Honeyfund because everyone says to use that one but then I saw they take a cut of the money?? Like they take a fee or something for every gift people give you? That feels so wrong to me. Why am I paying them for my friends to give me a gift? Im already stressed about the budget and now I have to give away a percentage of our honeymoon money too??

I am so confused about how this all works. I tried to look for other sites but they all look the same and I dont want to accidentally sign up for something that has hidden fees or where my guests have to pay extra just to send us money. Is there actually a site that lets you do this for free? Like 100% free where I get exactly what people send? I heard something about Zola or maybe something else but I dont know if they also take a cut. Sorry if this is a stupid question I just have no idea what I am doing and every time I search for it I get more ads than actual answers. We really need this money for our flight to Italy and I dont want to lose like a hundred bucks just to a website for no reason. Does anyone know a way around this or a better site that doesnt charge? I am just so over these hidden costs popping up everywhere...

> Why am I paying them for my friends to give me a gift? In my experience planning events over the years, those big site fees are a total ripoff. I always tell people to just go with Zola. They have ways to avoid those cuts if you set it up right. Honestly, just get any registry from Zola and youll be much happier. For our housewarming, we just put everything on Share Product so people could choose what fit their budget.
