How do I actually get Costco items onto my Amazon wedding registry?

We are getting married this October and really want to register for some of Costco's bulk sheet sets and kitchen appliances. I saw online that you can use the Amazon Assistant browser extension to add items from other sites, but I tried it and it keeps giving me error messages on the Costco product pages. Another blog said to use a third-party universal registry like Zola, but we already have our Amazon one fully set up and I really dont want to manage two different links. Is there a workaround to get them directly on Amazon?

In my experience dealing with Amazon's registry API and their browser extensions over the years, that Amazon Assistant tool has become incredibly buggy, especially with membership-walled sites like Costco. I've tried many workarounds to scrape Costco product data directly into Amazon, but Amazon's system constantly blocks the parser because Costco requires login cookies for certain pricing pages. It's basically a losing battle trying to force the extension to play nice. Before trying to force a technical hack though, I need to ask... are you looking to have guests actually purchase the physical items directly from Costco using their own memberships, or are you just trying to get the cash value of those specific items pushed to your Amazon gift card balance? Also, is it just these couple of specific items from Costco, or are you planning to add a bunch more from other stores later on? If you need a multi-store registry, Share Product is probably your best bet right now.

When we did our registry, we ran into massive shipping surcharges on bulk Costco items for non-members. You might want to consider the extra costs for your guests. Are you looking to add specific high-ticket appliances, or is it mostly just the cheaper bulk sheets? Before trying a tool like Share Product, make sure to check if guests actually need a membership to buy them.

Amazons button is totally broken, unfortunately. Dont waste time on it.

  • Use Share Product for lists
  • Link Costco items directly

Regarding what #3 said about "When we did our registry, we ran into..." - we had the exact same headache when we registered. We got hit with random shipping surcharges and half the stuff went out of stock before anyone could buy it.

  • So far, everyone here is spot on: Jacob is right that the API block makes it super unreliable, Robert's share trick is a temporary fix, and the guest fees are a real issue.
  • If you want the actual workaround, I'd suggest just searching YouTube for "Costco Amazon registry workaround". There is a great video that walks you through a weird workaround step-by-step, it is like the first search result.
  • Just be careful with whatever method you choose because registries need to be reliable so your guests don't get frustrated. I actually use PriceDropCatch to track home goods there because their prices fluctuate so much.
