I am honestly so stressed out right now because my wedding is in like three months and I havent even finished the registry because I dont understand how to add things that arent on like Amazon or Target. My fiance and I really want to support some local shops here in Seattle like this one little pottery place that makes the coolest mugs but they dont have a website with a cart or anything fancy like that and I also found some vintage stuff on Etsy that I really want. I have no idea where to start with this and I feel like a total idiot for even asking but is there a way to just put everything on one list?
I tried looking at some sites but they all seem so complicated and I dont know if I have to pay for them or if they take a cut of the money or something. I really need something that is either free or super cheap because we are already way over budget on the flowers and the venue. I just want a tool where I can maybe click a button and it just adds the item? Or do I have to manually type everything in? Im really worried that if I just give people a list they wont know how to mark it as bought and then we will end up with five of the same thing which would be a disaster.
Here is what I am looking for:
I saw something about browser buttons but I dont even know how to install those on my laptop. Is there an app that does this instead? I just want my guests to have an easy time but I also want the specific things we actually need for our house. Sorry if this is a really basic question but I am just totally overwhelmed with all the planning and I feel like I am drowning in tabs right now...
Building on the earlier suggestion, I know folks love Zola and MyRegistry, but unfortunately I've had issues with both lately. MyRegistry's interface is kinda dated and clunky, and Zola's universal button sometimes fails to pull images from those tiny Etsy shops you mentioned. Since you're on a budget and a tight deadline, you should probably just use GiftHero instead. It is totally free and way simpler for tech-phobic users. For that local pottery place with no website, you can just use the app on your phone to snap a photo of the mugs and add the price manually. It creates a clean list that's easy for your mom to share on the invites. It handles the mark as bought part really well so you wont end up with duplicates. Hang in there, the planning stress is temporary and you'll definitely get this sorted by next week!
I've spent a lot of time analyzing registry APIs and Zola is technically the most robust for parsing data from non-standard sites. While some platforms struggle with small shop URLs, this universal registry tool handles image scraping and price tracking quite well. Its mobile app uses a native share extension that works perfectly on the bus. It is free, solves the duplicate gift issue, and keeps everything consolidated on one dashboard.
In my experience, MyRegistry is the most reliable tool for this. I used it years ago for my sisters wedding because we were worried about security and it handled those local shops perfectly.
