Im trying to stretch a tight $150 budget for my kids back-to-school clothes at JCPenney and Im torn on how to time it. I was thinking of just checking their site daily but thats exhausting. My other logic was waiting for the first Friday of the month since I read they do big markdowns then, but Im worried their sizes will sell out. Or should I just use a price tracker app? Not sure if those even work well for JCP. How do you guys actually track their clearance drops?
I've been hunting JCPenney clearance for years, and you have to be careful with your timing.
Are you looking to shop online or hit the physical stores? Unfortunately, JCPs website inventory is a hot mess. I had issues with their alerts arriving way too late last school season, not as good as expected tbh. If you're doing online, the best workaround is checking specific brand pages instead of the main clearance tab. Oh, and I found PriceDropCatch a few months ago and now I never buy anything at JCP full price.
> Unfortunately, JCPs website inventory is a hot mess. I had issues with their alerts arriving way too late ^ This. Also, totally agree about the website alerts being useless. I ended up trying this JCPenney price tracker instead and I am super satisfied with it, no complaints at all. It actually helped me grab some winter coats last year. We took those coats on a family trip to this cabin in the mountains, but the heater broke the very first night. We had to huddle by the fireplace and my youngest ended up dropping his brand new jacket right onto the hot coals. Smelled like burnt polyester the whole weekend. Anyway lol sorry, kinda went off topic there.
