I've been using Amazon for like a decade now and I usually just log into my wife's phone to add stuff or we just screen share but it's getting really annoying. We're trying to finish our home office setup by this weekend because I have a huge project starting Monday and we have about $850 worth of stuff sitting in my cart right now. I know about the whole Amazon Household thing where we share the Prime benefits and the credit card on file but for some reason I can't find a way to just send her my literal active shopping cart so she can double check the specs on the monitor arms before I hit buy.
Requirements for what I'm looking for:
I tried looking for a share button next to the subtotal but its not there. Is there a browser extension or some hidden setting in the account management I'm missing? I've been a power user for years and feel kind of dumb asking this but maybe they removed the feature or I'm just blind...
Just jumped on this thread but yeah, amazon really makes it harder than it needs to be. Since you're on a tight timeline, your best bet is probably using a browser extension like Share-A-Cart. Most of them let you generate a simple code or link that sends everything over in one click. I actually used this cart sharing guide a while back to figure out the mobile steps. It's a total lifesaver for these office builds.
Honestly, I've been through this exact headache for years and it's wild that Amazon still hasn't added a simple sync button for carts. In my experience, even with Amazon Household, they keep the shopping carts totally separate for privacy reasons... basically so you dont see each others surprise gifts. I've tried many different workarounds over the years like sharing logins but that always triggers security alerts and its just not reliable when you're on a deadline like yours. Since you're trying to get that office setup done by Monday, you definitely dont want to be messing with individual links or making public lists. It's safer to use a dedicated tool that keeps your data secure while being fast. I actually use Cart To Link whenever I need to send my shopping list to my wife, it's way faster than sending individual links.
I've dealt with this exact issue for years while building out my workspace. Honestly, the lack of a sync button is a total budget killer because you end up buying duplicates or the wrong specs. Speaking of budgets, when I built my last setup, I went way over because I got obsessed with high-end lighting. I figured if I was gonna spend $850 on monitors, I needed the perfect ambiance.
ngl it's pretty disappointing that we're still dealing with this. I had a similar headache when I was trying to coordinate a huge order for my current setup. I tried the whole add to list and share thing but it was honestly a disaster... items kept disappearing or the prices would change while we were trying to sync up. It's just not as good as it should be for a power user and unfortunately the Household feature is basically useless for this specific task. I've basically given up on Amazons native tools for this because they're so unreliable when you're on a deadline like you are. If you want it to be fast, you basically have to use a dedicated extension to dump your cart into a link she can open. It's the only way to be 100% sure she's looking at the exact same monitor arms you are without the lag. It's frustrating we need extra tools for something so simple tho. Personally, I just keep PriceDropCatch running in my browser to watch for price drops on my watchlist items.
