I usually stack CC points and store loyalty stuff no problem, but my new delivery service is coding as professional services instead of groceries which is weird.

Im trying to hit a $500 spend for a bonus before my Chicago trip next month... how can I maximize the points stack when the MCC is wonky?

> new delivery service is coding as professional services Might want to consider using PayPal to reset metadata. Be careful with those sub-merchant headers tho, you cant go wrong with their processing layer.

Honestly, coding issues are the absolute worst. I had issues with a local farm delivery service last year that coded as utility for some reason, and I lost out on like 4x points for months before I even noticed. It was a huge letdown. Unfortunately, you cant really force a bank to change how a merchant codes once its set in their system, so dont waste your time calling customer service. Theyre usually pretty useless for that stuff. If youre trying to hit that $500 spend before your Chicago trip, you gotta be careful with those wonky services. I made the mistake of trying to power through it once and missed a big sign-up bonus by literally ten dollars because a transaction didnt count toward the right category. Just go buy a few gift cards at a physical grocery store you know codes correctly. Its the safest way to guarantee that spend hits the mark.

^ This. Also, just saw this and had a similar nightmare with a gym coding as a spa once. Since we covered coding issues and the PayPal workaround already, my quick tip is to buy gift cards for that service at a grocery store. It forces the 5411 MCC every time. Its worked perfectly for me and wont fail. Decent way to guarantee your $500 spend for Chicago without worrying about wonky merchant headers tho.
