Im shooting my cousins tiny wedding next month on a tight $120 budget. I looked at Godox and Canon, but keep reading that the T7 lacks a center pin and wont fire third party flashes? Its super confusing, so which one actually works with the T7s weird hotshoe?

> Ugh yeah, Canon really pulled a fast one with that hotshoe... Coming back to this cause I remember being so frustrated when I first got my Rebel. I've tried many setups over the years trying to find workarounds for that missing center pin. Ngl it felt like a total scam at first. If the larger flashes feel too heavy, I actually used the Godox TT350C Mini TTL Flash for Canon for a while. Its super light and usually goes for like $85. Honestly, for a tiny wedding, it wont weigh you down as much as the pro-sized units. One thing I learned the hard way... always carry extra rechargeable batteries. I love the Panasonic Eneloop Pro AA Rechargeable Batteries 4-Pack because they recycle the flash way faster than alkalines. Since youre on a budget, you might also find a used Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT for under $120 if you get lucky. Just double check the firmware is current. You totally got this tho, weddings are stressful but fun!

Ugh yeah, Canon really pulled a fast one with that hotshoe... In my experience, you just need a flash with the right firmware to bypass that missing pin.
