I’m planning a landscape trip with my Canon EOS R5 and a few RF lenses, but my current setup is just too bulky. I need something lightweight that can handle the weight of the RF 24-105mm or 70-200mm without wobbling. Budget is around $400—any specific carbon fiber models you’d recommend for high-end mirrorless gear?

Honestly, I feel u... carrying bulky gear for landscape is the worst. For your budget, I'd say check out these two because I've actually used them with my R5:

1. Benro Tortoise 24C Carbon Fiber Tripod with GX30 Ball Head - This is my top pick. It’s got no center column so it’s super stable for those 70-200mm shots. Basically zero wobble!!
2. Peak Design Travel Tripod Carbon Fiber - Honestly, I had issues with this one. It's cool and tiny, but it felt a bit flimsy with the heavy RF glass... kinda disappointing for the price tbh.

I'd go with the Benro, it's seriously solid for the money. gl!

yo, I feel that pain... I once hiked up a trail with a massive setup and by the end, my shoulders were literally screaming at me. I learned realy fast that for the R5 and those heavier RF lenses, you gotta find that sweet spot between portability and stiffness. Honestly, I would suggest looking into Leofoto for your budget. I mean, you can basically get any of their carbon fiber legs and they're gonna be rock solid. I've been using one of their setups for a while now and it's been a game changer for my landscape shots. Just be careful and make sure to check the max load on the ball head though!! A 70-200mm can get a bit front-heavy, so you definately want something that wont creep. Best lesson I learned? Dont cheap out on the head even if the legs are great. gl!

I totally agree with the mention of Leofoto earlier. Honestly, after three years of dragging my gear through mud and salt water, I’ve realized that the "best" tripod is really the one that doesn't seize up on you after a season. For an R5 setup with that RF 70-200mm, you definitely need those thicker leg sections to handle the weight distribution. Here are two I’ve used long-term that fit your budget and hold up well: * Leofoto LS-284C Ranger Carbon Fiber Tripod - This is basically my go-to for landscapes. It doesn't have a center column, which makes it SO much more stable for long exposures in the wind. Plus, it's thin enough to fit in a side pocket.
* Sirui AM-254 Carbon Fiber Tripod - A bit more budget-friendly but still feels like a premium piece of kit. The leg locks are very tactile and haven't failed me yet, even with heavy RF glass. Just a pro tip from an owner: whatever you buy, make sure to take the legs apart and clean the threads after any beach or dusty trips. It takes like ten minutes but keeps the gear feeling brand new. Good luck on the trip!
