I’ve just switched to an R6 II for an upcoming trip and want to pack light. Besides extra LP-E6NH batteries and fast SD cards, what are your must-haves? I'm curious about compact USB-C chargers or specific filters that pair well with RF glass. What’s your 'don’t leave home without it' accessory for the Canon RF system?
In my experience, you really don't need to break the bank to get a solid travel setup for the R6 II. I know some people mentioned the Anker earlier, but I've been super satisfied with the Baseus 65W GaN5 Pro Wall Charger. It's crazy small, handles PD charging perfectly, and it’s basically half the price of the big-name brands. Since you're asking about filters, I'd suggest looking at the K&F Concept Nano-X True Color Variable ND Filter. It's great for video or bright day shooting without that weird 'X' pattern you get on cheap glass. Also, grab some cheap insurance like the ULBTER R6 Mark II Screen Protector 3 Pack... seriously, it’s like ten bucks and saves ur screen when you’re tossing the camera in a light bag. I mean, ur gonna love the R6 II, it's a beast. Anyway, hope that helps. Cheers!
Coming back to this, I'd actually suggest a different approach since the Anker is kinda pricey. Idk but I've had great luck with the Ugreen 65W Nexode GaN Charger—it's basically the same tech for like $30. It handles the PD 3.0 profiles ur R6 II needs to charge that Canon LP-E6NH Lithium-Ion Battery internally, and it's way more budget friendly. Honestly, save you're cash for glass... gl!
In my experience, if youre trying to stay light with that R6 II, ditch the bulky Canon wall charger immediately. It’s basically dead weight. I’ve been using the Anker 735 Charger GaNPrime 65W for a while now and it’s a total game changer. It’s tiny and charges the camera directly via USB-C way faster than the old bricks, plus it handles my phone and laptop at the same time!! For filters, honestly, dont mess around with cheap glass on RF lenses... it'll just kill your sharpness. I usually bring the PolarPro Peter McKinnon Edition II Variable ND Filter 77mm because it’s super sharp and keeps the kit minimal. Also, ngl, the Peak Design Leash Camera Strap is my absolute 'dont leave home without it' item. It’s way thinner than the stock Canon strap so it actually fits in a small bag without taking up half the space. Basically gives you more room for snacks lol. gl with the trip, the R6 II is literally a beast!!
Same setup here, love it
I have been doing way too much research into this lately since I just got my camera too lol!! Tbh it feels like there are a million brands out there but after looking at a bunch of market comparisons, here is what I ended up looking at for my R6 II setup:
