Curious about one thing: are you actually looking to record ProRes externally or do you literally just need it for framing and focus?? Basically, if you arent recording, getting a full-on recorder might be a waste of money and extra battery weight. Since the R6 and R7 micro-HDMI is so fragile, you gotta be careful... I would suggest getting a SmallRig Camera Cage for Canon EOS R6 with a SmallRig HDMI Cable Clamp to protect that port before you plug anything in. It is SO easy to snap those pins if the cable gets snagged. Anyway, if you just want a bright screen without the Atomos price tag, check these out:

• PortKeys LH5P II 5.5 Inch 2200nit Monitor (built like a tank and has camera control)
• Feelworld LUT6 6 Inch 2600nit Field Monitor (super bright for the price but maybe a bit plasticky)
• Desview R6 UHB 5.5 Inch 2800nits Monitor Let me know about the recording part tho cuz that really affects which one I'd recommend!! peace

I was struggling with my R6 in the sun until I grabbed the Portkeys LH5P II 5.5 Inch 2200Nit High Brightness Camera Monitor. Honestly, it's a beast. It's got 2200 nits so it's crazy bright outdoors, and the latency is pretty minimal... definitely better than my old cheapo setup. Plus, it actually controls the camera settings!
