I use the Peak Design Travel Tripod (Carbon Fiber). Love it.

Re: "Also recommend the PeakDesign Carbon Fiber tripod..." - honestly that PD one is super slick but the price is just wild! I went through a whole journey trying to find the perfect legs for my R5 Mark II without going broke. I used to think you had to spend Gitzo money for stability but i've found some fantastic alternatives that work just as well for way less cash! I've been using the Benro Mach3 9X Carbon Fiber Series 2 Tripod lately and love it! The build quality is amazing and it handles my heavy RF lenses with zero issues. When I compared it to the more expensive brands, the vibration damping was basically identical. Its such a solid, methodical piece of gear. Here's why i've moved toward these budget brands:

  • price is usually 40 to 50 percent lower than boutique brands
  • build quality has caught up significantly in the last few years
  • they often include the ball head and tools in the box If you are really looking to save money, the Sirui AM-284 Carbon Fiber Tripod with A-10R Ball Head is another amazing option. Its incredibly light and sturdy for the price point. Ngl, brands like Sirui and Benro are giving the big names a run for their money... definitely check them out if you want to save some budget for more lenses!

Gitzo Traveler Series (e.g., GT2545TUS)

  • Pros: Renowned for their stability, build quality, and vibration damping, Gitzo tripods are ideal for professional on-location work.
  • Considerations: They tend to be on the higher end of the price spectrum.

I’ve been researching tripods for the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and recommend considering the Manfrotto Befree Advanced. Its combination of durability, stability, and portability make it perfect for both indoor and outdoor shoots. It offers a smooth panning head and a solid build, ensuring reliable performance for photography setups.
