Finally pulled the trigger on a Canon R50 for my trip to Tokyo next month and I'm so stoked!! Its so tiny compared to my old dslr so I need a tripod that actually fits in my daypack without weighing me down. I've been looking at the Joby GorillaPod 3K since everyone uses those for vlogging but then I saw the Manfrotto PIXI EVO which looks way sturdier for long exposures at night. I only got like 70 bucks left in my gear budget after the lens purchase lol. Do you think the GorillaPod legs get annoying to level out or should I just stick with the Manfrotto? Hard to choose since I want to do both vlogging and some street photography...

Youre spot on about those flexible legs being a nightmare to level out. Ive spent way too much time fiddling with those joints just to get a straight horizon... it's honestly super annoying for street photography. Since youre hitting Tokyo for long exposures, you really want that rigidity you mentioned for your night shots. One thing to keep in mind though is the center of gravity. Even with a tiny camera like the R50, if you end up using a heavier lens later, those small tripods can get a bit tippy if the legs arent spread to the widest setting. But yeah, the stability for long exposures is definitely worth the trade-off over the wrap-around gimmick.
