Just picked up an R100 for my Italy trip and I am so hyped to finally try some night shots!! I saw the Manfrotto Pixi online but it looks way too short for street stuff and the Peak Design one is just way too expensive for me. Trying to stay under $100... what travel tripods are actually worth it?
I bought a cheap tripod for Rome once and it was such a letdown because the legs kept slipping on those old stone streets. It's frustrating when gear fails you mid-trip... unfortunately I had issues with stability on anything too thin. Not as good as expected.
Saw this today and got so stoked for your trip! Night shots in Italy are honestly life-changing. Quick question tho, are you mostly walking around cities or doing some hiking too? If you want real height without the PD price tag:
Unfortunately, cheap legs aren't stable for long exposures. I had issues with vibrations before, and they weren't as good as expected.
