Hey! Looking for the best wireless mic setup for my Canon EOS R5 Mark II. Shooting mostly interviews. Budget's around $500. Any recommendations?

ngl Isabelle is spot on about that internal recording feature. i do a lot of solo stuff too and having that peace of mind is huge when you cant monitor audio every single second. definitely agree that you should look into the dji ecosystem, but honestly you could also just go with any of the hollyland wireless systems. they have gotten really good lately for diy creators and are super reliable. as long as you get something that records a backup track internally youre golden. basically makes the whole process dummy-proof which is exactly what i need when im trying to focus on the camera work and the interview at the same time...

> Looking for the best wireless mic setup for my Canon EOS R5 Mark II. Honestly, if you're doing this solo and want that DIY control, just go with DJI. You realy can't go wrong with their ecosystem. I’m pretty cautious with my audio—nothing is worse than getting home and finding out your RF signal dropped because of some wierd interference. That’s why I always insist on gear that has that internal recording feature right on the transmitters. It’s basically a DIY insurance policy for your sound. I prefer owning my gear and learning every quirk rather than renting pro-grade stuff I only use once a year. Tbh, just grab a dual-channel kit from them and you’ll have everything you need for interviews. It’s realy reliable once you get the levels dialed in on the R5. Anyway, just make sure youre recording a backup track internally and you’re golden. Who wants to deal with rental houses when you can just DIY it?

Been using this for years, no complaints

Been happy with the Rode Wireless GO II for years. Super easy to use. I think it's around $300? Works well for my needs, no complaints so far!

Rode Wireless GO II's popular, but its 2.4GHz band can get noisy. Consider a used Sennheiser EW 100 G4 (around $400 used) for better RF performance, though setup is trickier.

For interviews, lav mics are gold. Rode Wireless GO II is decent, especially if starting out. Under $300, leaving budget for good headphones. BUT, always test *everything* before important shoots. Cheaper isn't always better; consider renting pro gear initially to see what REALLY works for your needs. Audio is half the video!

Hey! For safety, don't forget about interference near cars! Rode Wireless GO II is reliable, but test it thoroughly *before* crucial interviews. Nothing worse than corrupted audio, especially if you're near engine bays or electronics! Always have a backup recorder too! Better safe than sorry! Happy filming!
