spent all my cash on the R50 and now I'm panicking cause I leave for my trip next Friday and need a tripod under $50. I'm looking at the GorillaPod 3K or the SmallRig Selection but idk if the Joby is actually better or just marketing... which one handles the R50 weight better?
I picked up the SmallRig Selection Tabletop Tripod with Ball Head for my kit and honestly i am super satisfied with it. The Joby 3K is okay but those legs eventually get floppy and its annoying when you are trying to frame a quick shot on the go.

Regarding what #2 said about those legs - they're totally right. Friction-based joints in stuff like the Joby GorillaPod 3K Flexible Mini Tripod with Ball Head eventually wear down and start sagging under weight. Summarizing the thread so far, we've got the SmallRig for table use and the Pixi for stability, but vlogging usually needs some height for a better perspective. In my experience, the Ulanzi MT-44 Extendable Vlog Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head is the winner for under $50. It handles a 1.5kg payload easily. The technical benefit is the rigid extension pole... you dont get that wobble that comes with flexible legs. It basically acts like a selfie stick and tripod in one. Since youre on a deadline, grab something with a locking center column like this so you dont worry about your R50 hitting the pavement.
