in my experience, sticking with brand names is safer for big events. ive tried many over the years and usually suggest these:

TL;DR: Grab a radio-based remote like the Pixel or JJC for under $40. They are way more reliable than those IR remotes that need a clear line-of-sight to the sensor. Saw this earlier but just getting a chance to reply now. I’ve been through exactly what youre feeling right now. Back when I was shooting with my old 5D, a high-end trigger died on me during a freezing morning shoot at the Grand Canyon. It was frustrating because I’d paid a premium for it and it just... stopped working. After that, I started looking for budget-friendly alternatives that didn't feel like toys. Picking up the Pixel TW-283 Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Canon for around $30 was kinda a game changer. I honestly didn't expect much, but it ended up being my go-to for years. It uses a 2.4GHz signal, so you can basically stand behind a wall or a group of people at a wedding and it still fires perfectly. The built-in intervalometer is a nice bonus if you ever want to try some time-lapse stuff on your 6D later on. Another solid cheap option is the JJC JM-C Wireless Shutter Remote for Canon. It is as basic as it gets, just a receiver and a tiny remote, but it gets the job done without any fuss. Since you're on a budget and need it by Friday, these are usually available with fast shipping on most sites. Dont waste money on the expensive name brands just for a simple shutter click... these perform just as well if you treat them right.

Oh man, wedding shoots are already stressful enough without gear failing on you at the last second! I totally get the panic, but dont worry, you can definitely get something solid by Friday. I've been through a few of those cheap ones too and they always seem to die when you need them most. Honestly, if you want something that feels professional and just works, you have to check out the Hahnel Captur Remote Control and Flash Trigger for Canon. It is seriously amazing! It uses a 2.4GHz radio signal which is way better than infrared because you dont need line of sight. I have used mine through walls and from crazy distances up to 100 meters and it never misses a beat!! It feels super rugged in the hand too, not like a toy. Another fantastic option is the Pixel TW-283 Wireless Shutter Remote Control for Canon. I love this one because it doubles as a timer and intervalometer if you ever want to do long exposures or time-lapses later on. It uses the specific N3 connection for your 6D so it stays nice and secure. Ngl, the interface takes a minute to learn but once you get it, its a total lifesaver. Since you are on a tight deadline, both of these are usually available with fast shipping and they fit right in your $60 budget! Just make sure to pack extra batteries just in case. Youre gonna crush it at the wedding!!
