What external flash can I actually use with the Rebel T7 since Canon decided to remove the center sync pin? I've been shooting for a long time and never ran into this issue before but I just realized my manual speedlites are totally useless on this body. I have a last-minute event gig this Saturday and I desperately need something that supports E-TTL and works with this specific shoe.

I'm looking to spend maybe $120-$150 max. I know Godox has some firmware updates for this but I'm worried about compatibility issues right out of the box. Anyone know if the V860II or something similar works without a headache? I'm honestly so annoyed they changed the hot shoe design...

Building on the earlier suggestion, be careful with older units. I'd suggest the Godox V860III-C TTL Flash for Canon since it works perfectly out of the box, tho it might exceed your budget.

Saw this and had to jump in. In my experience, that missing pin is a total trap. I've tried many setups over the years, and for a T7, I always suggest the Godox TT685IIC TTL Flash for Canon because it handles that weird shoe out of the box. It's safer than gambling on firmware updates right before a gig. I usually stick to Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT for reliability, but it's definitely pricier.
