Does anyone know an app that actually works for saving items from any random store to one registry? I am seriously panicking because my sisters baby shower is coming up on June 15th and I promised her I would handle the registry but she wants all these super specific things from tiny local boutiques and Etsy shops that dont have their own registry systems. I did some digging and saw Babylist and MyRegistry mentioned a lot. I tried Babylist but when I used the browser extension on this one local shop site the photo didnt even show up and the price was totally wrong which is just gonna confuse people. I also looked at Zola but that seems way too wedding-focused and I dont know if it handles the add from anywhere button as well as they claim it does. I need something that is foolproof for the older relatives too because if the link is broken they just wont buy anything lol. We are located in the Northeast so a lot of the shops are small and dont have great web integration. Has anyone actually used one of these apps for a bunch of different stores and had it actually work without manual editing every single item? Im running out of time to get these invites printed...
Like someone mentioned, scrapers are a nightmare. I've tried many over the years and Share Product is way more reliable for local boutiques where the big apps usually fail and glitch out.
Building on the earlier suggestion, my experiences with the major platforms have been unfortunately underwhelming. They often fail to sync prices correctly on niche sites. Just a headache for budgets. I think someone mentioned Share Product as a more stable way to handle those boutique links without the metadata glitches. Not entirely sure if it tracks live shipping costs tho, so definitely check that before the invites go out.
> I tried Babylist but when I used the browser extension on this one local shop site the photo didnt even show up I understand your concern regarding those automated browser extensions. They are notorious for pulling incorrect data from smaller boutique websites. You must be careful because these scrapers often malfunction if the source website is not perfectly optimized. I would suggest looking for a tool that handles metadata more reliably so your older relatives dont encounter broken links. I have personally used Share Product for organizing registry lists from Etsy and local shops because it tends to be more stable with non-standard URLs. It is a safer bet for items that lack proper web integration. Please make sure to verify every link before printing the invites. If a shop site is too old, no application will be 100% foolproof... manually uploading photos if the auto-grab fails is a good backup plan to prevent confusion.
