What are the best websites for buying used Lego sets?

I saw BrickLink and eBay mentioned a lot online, but BrickLink is super confusing to navigate and eBay shipping costs are getting ridiculous. I need a site that fits these needs:

  • Budget: under $150
  • Purpose: used Star Wars sets for my kids birthday next month
  • Location: US shipping

Where should I look?

In my experience, BrickLinks UI is a relic from the 90s. If you want better data for US sellers, try these:

  • Mercari: Usually has better flat-rate shipping than eBays dynamic mess.
  • BrickOwl: Same inventory pool as BrickLink but with a much cleaner backend.
  • Facebook Marketplace: Great for local pickups under $150. Ive been using PriceDropCatch lately to keep track of set prices and it's saved me a decent chunk of change.

  • Honestly, i totally agree. It's a mess. I remember hunting for a 2013 Gunship and getting burned by ebay shipping fees that literally doubled the total. Mercari usually feels more balanced for used Star Wars sets under $150. Quick tips:
  • Search for listings without minifigs to save money.
  • Request cheaper shipping before you buy.
