What are the best ways to get Sephora sale notifications?

I need to figure this out fast because my sisters birthday is in like two weeks and I really want to snag that Dyson Airwrap or at least the Drunk Elephant sets before they are gone. I am literally staring at my cart waiting. So I was thinking about just keeping the app notifications on 24/7 but honestly the Sephora app is so glitchy for me and half the time the in stock alerts dont even send until things are already sold out again.

My logic was that maybe email is better? But then I check my promo folder like once a day and by then its usually too late. I am torn between just sticking to the official app or following those deal accounts on Instagram like Trendmood. I heard those accounts are faster than the actual store emails sometimes which is crazy if you think about it. But then I worry about missing something specific to my Beauty Insider tier or those targeted point multipliers.

Is it better to just sit and refresh the sale page every morning or is there some secret discord or something people use to get these pings the second they go live? I really cant afford to pay full price for her gift and my own serum restock right now so I am kind of panicking. Does the app actually work for you guys or should I be looking elsewhere...

  • Opt into SMS alerts; they hit my phone instantly.
  • Use price tracking extensions. Ive done this for years and have zero complaints, it works perfectly tho.

To add to the point above: SMS really is the most reliable way to get those pings immediately. Ive been a Rouge member for like five years now and the app still lets me down every single November sale. It sucks because you really want that Dyson for your sister and the stock levels are just totally unpredictable. Im not 100 percent sure, but I think someone told me that the Sephora site actually updates its inventory in waves. IIRC, the first big restock usually happens around midnight PST, but if you miss that, theres sometimes a second smaller wave around 3 AM EST. Again, dont quote me on that, but it might be worth a quick refresh if you happen to be awake. Few other things to consider for costs and logistics:

  • Look into whether your credit card has any cash back deals for Sephora right now. Sometimes you can get an extra 5 to 10 percent back which really helps offset the tax.
  • If the gift sets are sold out, check the individual travel sizes. Sometimes the price per ounce is basically the same, tho the packaging isnt as cute for a gift.
  • There might be a specific Discord for makeup deals... I think its called BeautyDeals or something? I havent joined it yet but people say its fast for those instant restock alerts. Its definitely stressful trying to time these things right. If you're tired of checking manually, PriceDropCatch is pretty helpful for tracking Sephora sales.

ngl the app is super risky to rely on alone. I had a nightmare experience trying to get a Dyson for my mom where the notification came in way too late... I was so bummed. You definitely want to be careful with those random deal accounts on IG too because sometimes they link to sketchy third-party sites that aren't even the official store. I would suggest staying safe and maybe checking out this Sephora price tracker instead of just guessing when the sale drops. It's way more reliable than the emails which always seem to end up in my spam folder anyway. Just make sure to double check your insider tier status before you checkout because sometimes the discounts don't apply right away and you don't want to get overcharged. It's better to be a bit paranoid and check a few times than lose out on the Drunk Elephant sets like I did last year.
