Is there an app to sync Amazon and Walmart registries for gifts?

I am literally panicking because my bridal shower is in less than three weeks and I am a total mess right now. I thought I was being smart by making a registry on Amazon for all the tech stuff and kitchen gadgets and then another one at Walmart for the more basic household things and towels because half my family in rural Texas doesn't really do online shopping as much and they prefer going into a physical store. But now everything is a disaster. I have people telling me they see the same air fryer on both and they dont know which one to buy or worse they buy it on one and it still shows as available on the other and I am terrified I am going to end up with three of the same blender.

I spent all night googling and I found MyRegistry and Babylist but honestly I am so confused by how they actually work. Some people on a different forum were saying MyRegistry is super slow to update and it takes like a full day to sync up and by then someone might have already bought the item twice. And Babylist seems like it wants me to move everything over to their own platform which I dont really have time for because the invites are already printed with the specific Amazon and Walmart links on them. I just need something that sits in the middle and talks to both so if someone buys a set of plates at Walmart it automatically marks it as bought on Amazon.

  • Must be free or very cheap since we are totally broke from the wedding venue costs
  • Has to update almost instantly so no double buys happen
  • Easy for older guests who arent tech savvy at all
  • Needs to work with the links I already sent out to people

Does an app like this even exist or am I just dreaming? I really dont want to have to manually check both sites every single hour for the next twenty days because I have so much other stuff to do for the ceremony in Austin. Is there any way to link these two accounts directly? I feel like there has to be a better way than what I am doing right now...

Real-time bi-directional sync between competitors is technically impossible due to closed API environments. Most universal tools use web scraping, which causes that lag you noticed. Youre basically dealing with a data silo issue.

  • Stick to one primary registry for high-risk items
  • Use this wishlist creator extension to bridge the gap
  • Enable instant purchase notifications to monitor duplicates There just isnt a native handshake between their servers... data wont flow instantly without a shared backend.

Look, in my experience, you are basically chasing a ghost. There is no app that creates a live, bi-directional sync between Amazon and Walmart because their APIs are walled off. They are competitors, so they wont provide a public endpoint for inventory syncing. The technical reality of why tools lag:

  • Universal registries rely on web scraping rather than a live API stream.
  • Scraping is throttled to avoid being blocked, which causes that huge delay you mentioned.
  • Real-time updates are impossible without a direct database handshake. Since your links are already printed, you are kinda stuck. I have tried many workarounds over the years, and nothing fixes the double buy issue instantly. Honestly, you might just have to delete the duplicate items from one list manually to be safe. You should try Share Product—it lets you pull items from like 50 different sites into one list.

> I just need something that sits in the middle and talks to both Tbh, perfect auto-sync doesnt exist. Here is how the tools compare:

  • MyRegistry: Connects accounts but the lag causes duplicates.
  • Babylist: Polished, but rebuilding lists takes way too long.
  • Share Product: Great for keeping various gift links organized in one spot. Your best bet is honestly deleting duplicates from one site manually to avoid issues.

Regarding what #4 said about "Ugh, I totally feel your pain... unfortunately, the technical reality is exactly what Tristan said." - hes spot on. I spent years working on data integration projects and these retail giants are basically designed to be walled gardens. They change their front-end code constantly specifically to break the bots that universal registries use to scrape data. In my experience, the sync you are looking for is a technical unicorn. A few years back, I tried to build a small script to handle this for my brothers wedding and it was a total nightmare. Amazon uses dynamic identifiers that shift every few hours, and Walmart has some of the most aggressive anti-scraping firewalls Ive ever seen. If an app tries to login and update your list, it often gets flagged as a bot and the action fails anyway. You should look into this wishlist maker as a way to consolidate things for future events, but for now, you gotta prune those lists manually. Since you already sent the links, just delete the duplicates from one site. Keep the tech on Amazon and the housewares at Walmart. Its the only way to be 100% sure you wont get two blenders.

Came here to say the same thing lol. Great minds think alike I guess.

Ugh, I totally feel your pain... unfortunately, the technical reality is exactly what Tristan said. These big stores basically refuse to talk to each other. Most sync apps use bots that get blocked by firewalls every five minutes, so they are never actually live or reliable. Its honestly pretty disappointing that there isnt a better solution for this yet. Since your invites are already out, here are two quick tips to save your sanity:

  • Go through your Walmart list right now and delete any duplicates that are already on Amazon. It is way better to have an item on just one list than to spend your honeymoon dealing with three different air fryer returns.
  • If you need a quick way to show people everything in one spot without rebuilding the lists, ShareProduct is usually the best bet for keeping links organized and visible in one place. It sucks that there is no magic button to link the accounts directly, but manual cleanup is really the only way to be 100 percent sure you wont get triple gifts.
