How do I get an alert on my phone the second someone posts a cheap eBay listing? I keep checking manually for a Gameboy Color for my nephews birthday next month but everything good sells instantly. Im really new to this and kinda tech illiterate so sorry if this is simple but how do people find them so fast?

Honestly just be careful with random apps. I almost got scammed once before I started using this price drop alert tool which is way safer for finding any Nintendo stuff.

Re: "Honestly just be careful with random apps. I..." I completely understand the caution with third-party software, but completely avoiding alerts makes it almost impossible to score the absolute best deals! I absolutely love hunting for vintage consoles, and when I rebuilt my Nintendo collection, I learned that precision is key to keeping costs down. My current setup relies on very specific keyword exclusions, like removing terms like damaged or parts, which keeps the alerts highly relevant. This methodical approach saved me so much money when I secured an atomic purple model for way under market value. Getting that instant notification and completing checkout within thirty seconds was incredibly thrilling! Just remember to factor in shipping costs when setting your price thresholds. You should check out PriceDropCatch if you're tired of manually checking eBay prices every day.

Man, I totally feel your pain with the Gameboy stuff. The market is absolutely flooded with bots these days so if youre just refreshing the app manually you basically have zero chance of winning. I would suggest you look into third party trackers because the official ebay app notifications are usually way too slow. They might send you an alert like 10 minutes after an item sells which is obviously useless by then. I personally use PriceDropCatch when I am hunting for retro gear because it actually pings you fast enough to stand a chance. Just be careful not to jump on the first cheap thing you see tho... make sure to look at the photos for battery corrosion in the back compartment because that will totally ruin the console and it is a huge pain to fix. People try to hide that stuff all the time so you gotta be a bit cautious. I have a couple questions tho to see how you should set your alerts up. Are you looking for a specific model like the Atomic Purple one or just any color that works? Also, what is your actual max budget for this? Knowing if you are trying to stay under fifty bucks or if you have a bit more wiggle room helps narrow down which filters you should be using so you dont get spammed with broken junk listings... honestly its a bit of a minefield out there if you dont set the parameters exactly right.
