I just moved into my first solo apartment in Chicago and I'm super hyped to finally host a housewarming next month! Im trying to set up a Target registry for some kitchen basics since my budget is kinda tight after the move. I looked it up and saw people saying you just hit a button on the app but for some reason half the stuff I click on only shows add to cart and no registry option. I even tried looking for a heart icon like some blogs said but I think the layout changed recently or maybe Im just blind lol. How am I supposed to actually get these items onto my list?
I dealt with this exact headache when I was setting up my wedding registry a few years ago. I remember sitting on my couch for an hour just staring at the screen because the button simply wouldnt appear on half the kitchen stuff I wanted. It turns out the app is just super picky about whether youve actually entered the registry mode or if youre just browsing the general store. If you dont see the button directly under Add to Cart, you usually have to scroll down a bit past the product details or sometimes click a tiny link that says add to list which then lets you pick the registry. Its definitely not as intuitive as it used to be. When I was doing my kitchen, I just went with the Target kitchen brands for everything. You honestly cant go wrong with their basic cookware and utensils. They hold up way better than youd expect for the price and they look decent on a counter. If the app keeps acting like a mess, I used a handy tool back then to keep my sanity while tracking what I still needed to buy versus what people already grabbed. Just make sure youre definitely logged into the registry portion of the app first, or try doing it on a desktop because the mobile version has these weird glitches where buttons just vanish after an update. Its annoying but once you get that first item on there, the rest usually follows suit.
^ This. Also, I have been very satisfied with the app once I figured out these technical quirks:
This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.
