I need to get a pair of the classic Wayfarers for my brothers wedding in two weeks and honestly the price swings are driving me insane. I live in Chicago and usually I would just go to the store but the prices online are way better if you catch them at the right time. I have been checking like five different sites every morning but I keep missing the flash sales. My budget is super strict at $110 max because I am already spending a fortune on the suit and travel and everything else so every dollar counts right now.
I did some digging and everyone says to use CamelCamelCamel for Amazon prices but half the time the specific model I want isnt even tracked right or they want me to create an account to get the actual alerts sent to my inbox. I also looked into Honey but I am really weird about browser extensions tracking my data and browsing history so I am trying to avoid that if I can. Plus I am looking at other retailers too like Nordstrom and Sunglass Hut not just Amazon so a site specific tracker doesnt really help me much.
Is there any way to actually track these prices for free without having to make an account or give away my email or download some invasive extension? I just want something simple that I can check or that maybe just pings my browser. I dont want to be on another mailing list just to save twenty bucks but I really need to grab these before the wedding deadline. Does anyone know a tool or maybe some weird trick to see the price history or get a notification without the whole signup process? I am running out of time...
^ This. Also, I've tracked RB2140 specs for weeks; 50mm non-polarized usually hits $110 first if you just refresh pinned tabs manually. PriceDropCatch is decent for watch flash sales.
Which exact lens size r u hunting? Love Wayfarers!
I totally get the frustration with those price swings, especially for Wayfarers. I managed to snag my last pair for under a hundred bucks by being a bit more strategic. I am really happy with how I do it now because I hate those invasive extensions and constant emails too. Basically, here is how I handle it to stay under budget:
