Can I send a link to my Amazon cart to someone?

So I'm trying to set up my home office before I start this new remote gig in ten days and I've got like 15 things in my Amazon cart. My logic was that I could just copy the URL from the browser bar and send it over to my husband so he can pay with the business card but then I realized the cart is tied to my specific session and login cookies.

I've been using Amazon for literally a decade and I know how to make a public list or a registry but that feels like way too many steps for just a one-time thing. Is there seriously no way to just generate a temporary link to a live cart? Like a guest checkout link or something? I looked all over the mobile app and the desktop site and I'm coming up empty...

Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, Amazon dont allow shared sessions," its such a letdown honestly. I tried doing this for my sisters wedding gifts once and ended up screenshotting everything like a caveman because the link just failed. Total headache. Quick tip tho: just select all items and move them to a fresh public list. That generates a shareable URL way faster than adding stuff one by one.

Unfortunately, Amazon dont allow shared sessions. Just use any browser tool. btw I use Cart To Link for this and it works great, saves so much time compared to copying links one by one.

Saw this earlier and had to jump in because I love this solution! I deal with this for business stuff all the time and honestly Share-A-Cart is the absolute best way to go. Its totally free which is fantastic.

  • Get the browser extension
  • Hit the create cart code button
  • Send that link or code over I used this for my last three builds and it worked perfectly every single time!

Re: "Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, Amazon dont..." - yeah it is honestly a massive technical oversight on their part. Their session token architecture is built so rigidly for security that they totally sacrifice basic usability which is a huge letdown for power users.

  • I remember having similar issues when I was spec-ing out my home server rack last year
  • I spent hours comparing the static pressure ratings on different Noctua fans and looking at cable management kits
  • The whole build was supposed to be a redundant RAID 6 array with a dedicated UPS but the delivery driver left the chassis in the rain
  • The moisture sensors got tripped before I even unboxed it so I had to spend three days arguing with support instead of actually installing the OS
  • My brother was trying to help but kept sending me broken links, even though a good way to share gift ideas is right there for that kind of thing
  • The noise floor in my office is still way too high now, like 45 decibels at idle which is just unacceptable for a liquid-cooled setup in my opinion... Anyway sorry kinda went off topic there lol.
