Does anyone know a solid platform for a wedding registry that handles cash funds and charity donations without taking a huge cut of the money? Im getting married in Austin next May and honestly I thought I had this all figured out because I’ve used Zola and The Knot for friends’ showers a million times but now that its my turn I’m hitting a wall. We really want to do a hybrid thing where people can give to our honeymoon fund for a trip to Japan but also donate directly to Austin Pets Alive since we adopted our dog there.
The issue is that most of these sites have such a clunky UX when it comes to specific local charities and the transaction fees for the cash funds are kinda ridiculous when you start adding it all up. I was looking into WithJoy but I’m worried about the backend integration for the 501(c)(3) stuff and if it actually feels seamless for the guests or if they’re gonna get hit with a bunch of popups.
We are trying to keep things super simple for our older relatives who arent tech savvy but I really want that custom feel without the platform taking a 3 percent bite out of every gift. Has anyone found a workaround or a specific site that lets you customize the charity link while still keeping a clean cash fund UI? Its the one part of planning thats actually got me stumped even though everything else is moving so fast...
