I totally agree that the RF 15-35mm is basically the gold standard for quality, but honestly, isn't it like... really big for the RP? I've been spending way too much time reading community reviews and tbh, most people with our camera seem to want something that doesn't make it tip over! Since the RP is so light, here are a couple of more compact options I've seen everyone talking about recently: * Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM - This one is sooo tiny and basically fits the RP's size perfectly for travel.
* Canon RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM - A really solid budget zoom if ur looking for flexibility without breaking the bank.
* Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM - If u want the L quality but in a slightly smaller package than the f/2.8 version. I'm still kind of new to the wide-angle world, but these seem way more portable for just walking around. Has anyone else here tried that 16mm prime yet? It looks like a reallyyy fun little lens to start with!

asher is totally right about the balance issues. I had a similar experience where I started with a really heavy, expensive lens because I wanted the best image possible. It was great for a few shots, but carrying it all day was a nightmare because the RP is so light. The setup just felt lopsided. I eventually swapped to a much smaller, cheaper option that actually fits the scale of the camera body. It was a huge relief and honestly, I use my camera way more now that it isnt a brick. It seems like a lot of people in the community end up realizing that with the RP, portability is the real win over having the most expensive glass available. Keeping the kit compact just makes more sense for a body this size.
