I upgraded to a Canon R6 but I'm keeping my EF 24-70mm and 70-200mm glass. I need help picking an adapter with good autofocus and weather sealing.

  • item Basic Canon mount
  • item Control ring version
  • item Third-party brands

Which one should I buy for the best performance?

Congrats on the R6! Honestly, skip the third-party stuff for those nice lenses. I use the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R and its been flawless. The weather sealing is solid and the AF feels native. If you dont need the extra dial, the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R Standard is just as good for less money, but the control ring is super handy for R6 users!

Quick question before you decide tho—are you doing much video or long exposure stuff? If so, you should definitely consider the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter. Its a game changer for landscape work. Just a heads up, if you go third-party, check if it actually has the weather sealing gasket around the mount because most cheap ones dont.

Honestly, picking one is a headache because it drives me crazy how much we have to spend just to use lenses we already own. I already paid thousands for my EF glass and now they expect even more cash just for a metal tube with pins? Its a scam how they price these basic accessories so high. Gear prices are just ridiculous lately and it honestly feels like theyre just bleeding us dry.
