just finally got my r5 mark ii and omg it is so fast!! im looking to grab a battery grip before a big wedding shoot next weekend here in humid georgia so i need that extra juice. i saw the bg-r20 but then i found the one with the cooling fan and now im just confused. i read that the fan is mostly for 8k video but some people say it helps for general performance in high heat... my budget is around $400 so the fan one is really pushing it.

  • need it for long wedding days
  • mostly stills but some 4k video
  • needs to handle outdoor heat

is that cooling fan grip actually worth the extra money or is the standard one fine??

Honestly, save your cash and grab the Canon BG-R20 Battery Grip.

  • way cheaper
  • fine for stills The fan version is overkill for weddings, even in that Georgia humidity.
