I just blew my whole savings on the R6 V for a wedding I'm shooting in Seattle next month and now I'm stressing about all the add-ons. I spent hours reading about SD cards and I'm still totally confused. Some threads say you HAVE to have V90 for the high speed video but then others say V60 is plenty and I really can't afford to waste money.

Also is the battery grip actually essential for a 10 hour day? People say it helps with balance but they're so expensive. I'm terrified of the camera dying mid-ceremony or my cards failing. What are the absolute non-negotiable accessories I need so I don't screw this up?

I ditched grips years ago since theyre bulky. Just carry three Canon LP-E6NH Lithium-Ion batteries instead. For cards:

Oh wow congrats on the new gear!! You are gonna love that camera so much, its literally an absolute beast for weddings! Coming back to this because I actually totally disagree with the first reply about the battery grip haha. I honestly think the Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip is a total game changer for long days. I know they are bulky, but when you are shooting vertical portraits of the bride for hours, having that extra shutter button on the side saves your wrist from so much pain!! Plus, the R6 is kinda small, and if you put a heavy lens on it, the balance feels way better with the grip. For a 10 hour day in Seattle, you definitely dont want to be fumbling with tiny battery doors while the couple is walking down the aisle. On the card front, I totally get the stress!! V60 is usually okay for standard video, but if you plan on using the high speed burst mode for the kiss or the exit, you really want the buffer to clear fast. I swear by the SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II 128GB V90 because they are just so reliable and fast. If you are really pinched for cash, maybe look at the Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 as a slightly cheaper alternative that still hits those speeds. Having that extra speed just gives me so much peace of mind when things get hectic. Good luck, you are gonna do amazing!!
