honestly so over the battery gate for the r5ii cause my old batteries dont even unlock all the features. my logic was just buy cheap ones for a wedding in seattle next week but i dont want to fry the camera... are there any reliable third party lp-e6p alternatives yet or am I stuck?
tbh i was in the same boat and really didn't want to shell out 80 bucks per battery. I've been super satisfied with the SmallRig LP-E6P 2400mAh Li-ion Battery so far. It actually unlocks the high-speed modes without those annoying warnings. No complaints here, it works well and handles the power draw fine. You're gonna be totally fine with those for your Seattle wedding!
Building on the earlier suggestion, id probably just stick to the originals for big gigs... safety first.
Saving this whole thread. So much good info here you guys are awesome.
