sorry if this is a dumb question but im so stressed cause my 7d mark ii battery died during my kids game and i have a big tournament this saturday. people said get a battery grip but im a total newbie. i only have a $60 budget.
are off-brand ones okay?
Unfortunately, cheap alternatives like the Neewer Battery Grip for 7D Mark II feel fragile. The Vello BG-C12 Battery Grip is slightly better, but honestly, only the Canon BG-E16 Battery Grip meets professional standards.

Like someone mentioned, the official gear is nice but you can definitely find a killer deal that fits your budget! Honestly I had the exact same panic during a rainy playoff game years ago. The grip I grabbed from Meike ended up being amazing and lasted me through three seasons of heavy use!! It totally saved my life because missing a big play because of a dead battery is the absolute worst feeling. Just go with Meike or maybe Pixel and youll be golden. Any of their stuff is usually way more solid than the bottom-tier brands and they'll keep you right under sixty bucks. Having that extra power on Saturday is gonna be such a game changer... you wont even have to check the battery icon anymore. You're gonna crush it!!
